On the 3rd of December, on Monday, a Heating Center of charity organization Nochlezhka will start to work. The address of Tent is the same – 177 D Obvodny Kanal, in the yard of a complex social service centre of Admiraltejsky District.
A Heating Center is a big heated tent sized on 60 people where homeless are able to survive winter, keep going and preserve health. From the beginning of freeze-up till warm weather each distressed will receive secure and warm night lodging, a hot dinner and breakfast, warm and clean clothes, medical treatment (twice a week a medical assistant visits a tent), advice and assistance of social worker (social accompaniment to government departments, restoring official documents, assistance in free medical treatment under compulsory medical insurance).
"Winter is the most terrible time for homeless. In order to decree the number of people died outside in every district should be located a tent where homeless may stay overnight. Nochlezhka possesses financial sources on tent till the end of December only. A place at night shelter costs for Nochlezhka 74 roubles per man. A night of tent working – 4422 roubles. Currently we need 397 932 roubles for tent working from January till March. We rely on support of citizen and entrepreneurs. In winter 2011-2012 at warming place 317 people, who stayed overnighted 7354 times, found a shelter for 82 homeless a medical care was provided.
According to official returns only, in the period from November 2011 till March 2012 in Saint Petersburg died 1002 homeless people. More than hundreds people invalided as a result of amputation.
