My name is Nastya.
I studied at the Faculty of Philosophy of St. Petersburg State University, and then did a master’s programme at the European University. I worked as a translator, taught English and continue to do so. I started with Nochlezhka as a volunteer in 2013 and helped the PR department for about a year. Then there was a vacancy for a fundraiser, and I was invited to join the team. It had been 2 years since I started working for Nochelzhka in July 2016.
My friends have noticed that when I talk about my job (and I do talk about my job a lot), I rarely say ‘I’ and usually refer to ‘we’: we did, we helped, we will manage, well done us etc. I feel a part of something bigger, something that each one of us, both members of staff and volunteers, contribute our best skills and qualities to.
It’s absolutely amazing to see the results of Nochlezhka’s work and to realise that my daily duties are an essential contribution towards our common goal. Despite some inevitable difficulties in this, I am a very happy person.
In my free time I like reading, cycling, cooking and growing plants, talking heart-to-heart and creating beauty.
