•    Rehabilitation Centre "The Halfway House" for homeless alcoholics.

Homeless people, who are addicted to alcohol, but who has undergone a course of intensive therapy in city clinics, continue the programme of social-psychological adaptation in our shelter. The therapeutic programme is based on the principles of Association of Anonymous Alcoholics and includes both group sessions and individual psychotherapy. Homeless people who go through that programme sign a special contract and live in the shelter for up to 6 months. The programme is effective in 70% of the cases, which means that the majority of the people, who went through rehabilitation, gave up alcohol and changed their social status.

•    Rehabilitation Centre for disabled homeless people.

A lot of homeless people are forced to live on the streets. The results of this are injuries and frostbite leading to amputations and disabilities. After amputations, homeless people are brought from state hospitals to the courtyard of our organization and left on the ground. And this happens to the lucky ones; more often they are simply left on the street outside the hospital.

In the beginning, our shelter wasn't designed to provide help to these people. But almost no other places exist for them. Now there are more than 20 disabled people living in the shelter, who need special care.  

In the shelter, meals are provided to disabled people three times a day. In addition they receive medical attention and support by a social worker, who prepare all necessary documents for placing the person into a hostel.

One work day of the shelter (for 50 people) costs 5250 Rubles (150euro).
Support of one person in the shelter costs us 105 Rubles (3 euro) per day.
